- Chris Hawk was a lifelong resident of Springfield. He was a toolmaker and machinist for the Koehring Road Division Company. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, and was member of the East High Street First Christian Church and VFW Post #8673. He may have been married, also, to a woman named Dorothy, by whom he is reported to have three children. By his wife, Inex Ruth, he is said to have had four children.
