1850 Census
1850 Census
Plain Township, Franklin County, Ohio, USA

After the death of her husband, Amos Kohn, Rachel Chilcott Kohn married George Welch. All the children listed in this census, with the exception of 3-year-old Mahlon, are the children of Amos and Rachel Chilcott Kohn, but apparently the census taker believed their last names were Welch. Mahlon is the son of George and Rachel Welch.

It is likely that the Samuel Romine listed in this census record is actually Samuel Baldwin, who was also living with the family at the time of the 1860 census, and that the census enumerator mistakenly identified him.
